  •  TMJ – Neck Stretch – Having trouble sleeping, suffering multiple headaches a day, and having your jaw in constant throbbing pain is not fun at all. But it’s estimated that over 10 Million people in the United States suffer from TMJ and these debilitating symptoms that it causes.  What’s worse is many are told there is really no hope for relief. But we firmly believe Relief is Always within reach, and to prove it try this super simple stretch.

1.    Take one ear over your shoulder as far as you can.

2.    Then lift the chin upwards until you feel a stretch in the muscle at the front, opposite side of the neck.

3.    Repeat with the other side!

This helps stretch The Sternoclediomastoid muscles, (Just saying that might give you TMJ!)which runs along side of the neck, and unknown to even many TMJ sufferers, this muscles can be a major cause of the jaw pain that they often get.

On a side note feeling relief from this stretch is also a great way to prove that physical therapy can help with your condition. There are many other techniques in our office that we have also found can get you on the road to recovery from TMJ.
